Sweet Days Festival in Budapest

Sweet Days Budapest
The Sweet Days Festival or “Chocolate and Candy Sweet Days festival” as it is called officially is a 3 days festival in the Buda Castle all about sweets, candy, ice cream and chocolate. Organized by the supermarket hipermarket chain Cora some 60+ manufacturers (list further down) of sweets present their products to the interested audience. Mostly small local sweets producers coming from all over the country are exhibiting their work which is far more than just a bar of chocolate or a bag of candy.
On the Sweet Days in Budapest you can find hand made chocolate in all different styles, types, shapes and colors such as green tea chocolate or little chocolate pieces on a stick turning into hot chocolate when you put them in hot milk. Also you can see and of course buy a lot of cookies and other candy but the chocolate is probably the most spectacular.

MiniCity Playhouse in Budapest
MiniCity in Budapest is a type of playhouse for children where your youngest ones can experience different scenes and parts of a city in a size that is more convenient for them such as a kitchen, a car repair service or a bank. So your kids can try out what it is like to work in such a place and how it feels like as an adult to visit places like this.
The model seems to be that they asked different companies to sponsor MiniCity and therefore they can expose their shop in miniature size in the playhouse and probably attract mothers and fathers for their products as well and strengthen their brand awereness as you can see it here with the bookshop Libri and Domestos but also you could find Erste Bank, TV2, Opel and many more who for sure have given some Forint as an investment in their future. But there is nothing wrong about it.

David Guetta in Budapest
David Guetta is coming to Budapest to give a concert in the HungExpo (1101 Budapest , Albertirsai út 10.) on December 17th 2011. The prices for the gig of the world wide superstar DJ range from 8.990 HUF to 15.000 HUF for a VIP ticket. At the moment David Guetta is for sure the most successful and famous male artist and producer worldwide. His events are always sold out so that you should hurry up to get your ticket for the David Guetta Concert in Budapest.
David Guetta has been playing already on Balaton Sound this year and according to the reactions on Facebook or Twitter it was a blast. Though very comercial, or probably that is the reason why, he fills up every venue and so he will do with the HungExpo as well. The “Nothing but the Beat Tour” which this concert is part of has been very successful for David Guetta and also his recent albums and singles such as Where them girls at or Sweat are mega successful.
David Guetta Tickets for the Budapest Concert
At the moment tickets and further information are only available on this website. I do not know if this is a original and approved website from DG himself or just a website opened up for this concert by the tour organizer. The direct link to the ticketing system you can find here. Anyways you should get your tickets as soon as possible because as I mentioned it will be sold out very soon, the information is going around Facebook like hell at the moment.
This article was written in Entertainment, Music & ArtsChildren Train (Gyermekvasút)
The Children Train in Budapest (or as it is called in Hungarian Gyermekvasút) is a historical train from the Hungarian national railway company Máv which is still operated on a separated route and the interesting thing on it children are running it. Well not actually driving the train but all the things around like checking the tickets, working on the stations etc is done by kids from the age 8 – 16 I would guess. For the children it is a kind of hobby to do so and as we know all children would like to be a train driver once they are grown up so this is a good chance to check out what it is like to drive a train and what is connected with it, all the work around.
But why I am writing this here is because the Children Train is a fantastic chance for families with kids to go on a half day trip and see the country outside of Budapest (around Normafa), drive through the woods and have a great view over the Buda hills. Children love the train as most passengers are either children or there because of their children since the children train itself is not really usable as public transport. On one hand it is driving around in the middle of nowhere one the other hand it is simply too expensive to get from A to B.

Aquarena Budapest (Mogyoród)
Aquarena in Budapest, or to be specific in Mogyoród is a tremendously large water park with a lot of slides, many pools, spa area, kids pools and slides and much more. Who ever has been to the Formula 1 in Budapest or just left the city on M3 has seen the slides up on the hill where the Aquarena is located. You catually can see the Hungaroring from there.
The Aquarena is almost an own city measuring 11.5 hectar with shops, food, recreation area and so much more to do that you can spend days there without doing the same activity twice. You can find here 21 water slides which all together count a length of 1 mile which makes it a great experience. The pools in Aquarena Budapest are not just simple pools but an experience pool, Jacuzzi, three-level diving pool or the slowly streaming Lazy River, there is no way that you will get bored here.
Though promising a relaxed experience due to its size there is one point of critic I have to raise which is the waiting times for single activities. On weekends or public holidays the Aquarena is just heavily overcrowded and to slide once on one of the 21 slides you have to wait at least 20 minutes if you are lucky.

Bear Park Budapest (Veresegyház)
The Bear Park near Budapest, or how it is originally called Medveotthon, is a small kind of zoo which mostly is about bears as the name tells already but also hosts wolves and other a bit less spectecular animals. In fact this bear park is not located in Budapest or in the outskirts but in a small village call Veresegyház which is approximately 30 kilometers North-East of Budapest. However is is a good half day or day trip to a bit more countryside area in Hungary and it is particulary spectacular for kids.
What is the good about this Bear Park is the fact that the bears are not locked into a tiny area just for being watched like in the zoo but it is a wide area with hills, trees, water and much more that they live in. Still it is not freedom but it feels much better to go there and watch the bears. For your entertainment and also to get the bears to the fence of their area so that you can see them from close you can buy honey and get a wooden spoon with it which you can give the bears to lick. Of course this is a very popular scenery for an image.

Barefoot Park
The Barefoot Park (Mezítlábas Park) is, unfortunately, not located in Budapest directly but around 30 minutes by car to the south in a small village called Tabajd. So what is the Barefoot Park? The Barefoot park is a free park where on specially created lanes you are experiencing different undergrounds barefoot such as stones of different sizes, water, sand, wood and even corn cobs. The other good thing is that it is outside in the wood near a little village and during the entire walk which takes around 30 minutes (often depending on the kids) you are on the fresh air. In winter it might not be a too good idea to go there.
Kids love this activity and are really interested in how the next lane will feel like and how they will solve walking there. At the end of the Barefoot Park there is a big playground for the kids and a recreation area for the parents and you either can turn back or you walk a bit to the start. I think it is a great experience even though it’s a bit far away from Budapest for only half an hour walking but I think it is worth it.

Millenáris Park Budapest
The Millenáris Park in Budapest is a venue for a big variety of events, concerts, exhibitions, programs for children or fairs such as the Budai Gourmet Festival or the press foto of the year exhibition. The reason for the big variety is that in Millenáris Park you have a lot of different smaller venues where those events can take place, no matter if inside or outside. Additionally there is the so called Palace of Wonders which is a constant exhibition with different physical “wonders” explained in a playful way which is extremely popular among children but also the parents are wondering about it. This Palace of Wonders is an absolutely recommendable place to go to with your kids or even alone, you will not get bored there and see a lot of fascinating things.

Rammstein Budapest
10.11.2011 – Papp Laszlo SportArena
Rammstein is most probably the most successful German band outside Germany next to Tokio Hotel and Scooter which is still performing today and now they come for a concert to Budapest again. Rammstein has been in Budapest I think 2007 the last time and even if you don’t like their music you have to admit that their live performance is a blast. I have seen Rammstein live last time they where here and the stage was full of fire, laser, special effects and other show elemets which you won’t see in any other concert.

Budai Gourmet Festival
The Budai Gourmet Festival in Budapest (Millenaris Park) is organized by Sziget.hu, the company organizing the Sziget Festival, Balaton Sound and the Volt Festival in Sopron as well. So it is ensured that this festival is professionally organized maybe even a bit too professional in my opinion. For the relativly high entrance fee of 2.900 HUF you are equipped with a wine glass and a payment card (based on NFC -Near Field Communication technology) in order to make your payments at the stands. This payment method seems to be very popular nowadays among festivals in Budapest, this was the case at the Pálinka Festival already, and the card will be valid for the Balaton Sound, Sziget Festival as well as the Volt Festival as well. OK, enough talk about the organizational issues, let’s jump into what the Budai Gourmet Festival has to offer in terms of Gourmet.

Britney Spears Budapest

If you don’t have the album yet to sing all songs with her, you can buy the Britney Spears Femme Fatal Album here.
Britney Spears started her “Femme Fatale” Tour in mid-June and is touring in North America till end of August until in September she will come to Europe. On September 30th she than is here in Budapest for her stop. Other dates in neighboring countries are Kiev, Ukraine and Zagreb, Croatia as well as two stops in Russia (Moskow and St. Petersburg) and thats it in Central and Eastern Europe. The rest of the tour will take place in Western Europe.

Tropicarium Budapest
The Tropicarium in Budapest is the biggest indoor aquarium in Central Europe andis the home of several thousand fishes, reptiles and other animals living under water or in tropical areas around the world. With thousands of visitors week by week the Tropicarium is one of the top indoor attractions of Budapest and is especially popular among kids. The highlights are probably the crocodiles and the sharks swimming in a massive aquarium with a tunnel made of glass to have the best view. Though to be honest both of them are fairly boring to watch, the crocodiles are laying around and move very rarely, the sharks are swimming (they have to in order to survive) but it is the same way over and over again. Nevertheless the Tropicarium in Budapest is worth a visit if you are interested in the under water world or if you have kids fascinated by all those creatures.

Budapest Pub Crawl
Once in Budapest what you will definitely need to do is a Pub Crawl since Budapest is famous for it big variety of Pubs, cheap bear and hard shots. If you do it on your own or organized is up to you, the best is anyways if you know somebody in Budapest who knows the hot spots of the night to get some glasses of beer and a few spirits. If you go out in Budapest on a normal friday or saturday night in the summer time you find a lot of groups popping into the bar to grab a beer and move on. These groups are either stag parties or organized Pub Crawls that want to see as many Pubs in one night as possible and have a drink everywhere.
In Pub Crawls like this you see many different bars, beautiful girls and hear a lot of good music while having your glass of beer and moving on after a little while. Usually when getting on a crawl in a big group after some time people get lost in bars because they have met a good looking Hungarian girl or just think that this place is the most fun. So in the end of you Pub Tour half of the people are still together, the rest is somewhere all over the city but I think that belongs to a successful night out in Budapest.
Organized Pub Crawls are usually very much stick to the timing but therefore the drinks, or at least the first couple of them, are paid by the organizer and you have somebody taking care of you during the crawl so you can be sure that you do not get ripped off or enter the wrong bars. On the other hand most of the pubs you visit are the typical tourist destinations such as Szimpla Kert or Instant, the famous ruin pubs which everybody wants to see and is fascinated by.
If you book a Pub Crawl in Budapest until October 31st you will get 10% off the original price which is 13,50€. This Crawl takes around 3,5 hours and includes a minimum of 4 pubs to visit including a welcome drink in each of them, you can choose between beer or shot whatever you prefer. You will also be guided by a local guide who takes you around and tells you some things about the pubs you visit. What is not included is the public transportation tickets which you need to buy yourself (the guide will help you) and the hotel pickup, so you need to get to the first pub yourself.

Budapest Women belong to the most beautiful in the world and every tourist or expat coming to Budapest is amazed by the natural beauty of the women in Budapest. It is no coincidence that the capital of Hungary is also called “Paris of the East” which refers to the romance and love that is in the air. The women in Budapest have a natural beauty that is unbeatable, some people might say that there is a lot of plastic surgery and silicon around, which for some women is true, but still the non operated women simply have beautiful faces, skin and bodies. Do you need an example of beautiful women in Budapest? Than have a look below.

Budapest Circus
The Budapest Circus is not a travelling circus located in the beautiful Városliget, the city park, right next to the Budapest Zoo, the Amusement park and the Szechenyi Bath. This area is the recreation and amusement are of Budapest and packed every weekend with families coming for entertainment such as the Budapest Circus. In the Budapest Circus you will find performances of all kind from animal shows over artistic performances up to the traditional clown making you and your kids laugh.

Budapest Wine Festival

Budapest Wine Festival
The Budapest Wine Festival is the best opportunity for everybody who is interested in tasting Hungarian Wines as a lot of producers from all over Hungary join the Festival and showcase their products. You will find here exhibitors from the well known wine regions such as Tokaj, Villány or the Balaton region but also from smaller and less known region such as the closed to Budapest located Etyek which actually produces quite nice wines and has its own wine festival. The Budapest Wine Festival takes place every year in the Castle District Budapest around September time (This is the Festival Season with the Formula 1 in Budapest, the Sziget Festival and also the Red Bull Air Race) and lasts for a long weekend. The first Budapest Wine Festival was hosted in 1991 which makes it already a stable part in the list of Festivals in Budapest. So not only music is a big topic for festivals but also food and drinks such as sausage, Pálinka or the famous Mangalica pig.
As I have written already in another article somehow the festivals in Budapest seem to be always very similar when it comes to food and drinks. You get your sausage everywhere like on christmas markets, on festivals or any other occasion as well as your Lángos or Pálinka but I guess that is the normality. Nevertheless I must say that the Budapest Wine Festival is one of my favourite festivals because of the amount of exhibitors and the lovely (overpriced) Hungarian Wines especially from Szekszárd and Villány. Also it is a great place to see the Hungarian culture alive and meet great people in a wonderful atmosphere.
So if you are around Budapest in that time and have the chance to visit the Budapest Wine Festival I would definitely recommend to go there and try some Hungarian wines. In case you are not in Budapest that time I do recommend a wine tasting including lunch in Budapest, for more information and booking click here.

Budapest is for sure the festival city, there is a festival for everything. No matter if it is music, food or drink festivals you can be sure that there is a time in every year where local and international producers or artists come together in Budapest to present themselves, their products and their music. To give an overview about festivals in Budapest and also elsewhere in Hungary here will be a list and a short description about many festivals. I for sure do not know all festivals happening in Budapest and when exactly they will be as there are simply too many. Very popular are festivals about Hungarian food and drinks such as Sausage, Wine or Pálinka but also there are tons of music festivals out of which the Sziget Festival in Budapest is probably the best known.
Even though many festivals tend to be very similar in terms of what is offered there it is very nice to go out and have a few specialities of Hungary from local producers and try different, new things. There are for example several wine festivals, a Pálinka and Wine festival and a Pálinka festival so you will find here many times the same producers with the same offers. But anyways you will not be able to try all wines or all Pálinkas at once. The critics of similarity is rather about what is offered around like the food for example. You have the same sausages on every festival, christmas market and so on which is a bit annoying but on the other hand what else should they offer.

Erotic Massage Budapest
Following up the post about the Budapest Thai Massage I am writing here a few words about an erotic massage in Budapest because I received tons of mails if these thai girls give erotic massages as well, no they don’t. So here is the place to find an erotic massage in Budapest.
What is different between an erotic massage and a regular massage or thai massage? Basically the erotic massage gives you a “happy finish” and the entire massage is much more about satisfying your sexual needs than maybe the release of pain in your body. The girl giving you the erotic massage is dressed up sexy, if at all, and is using all her body to make that occasion as hot as possible.
In Budapest and all over Hungary there are beautiful girls who made this their profession, giving massages with a bit of sexual background. On the one hand they can earn quite nice money, on the other hand most of them do it in their premisses and do not pay tax after their income. So it is a fairly lucrative income source for many girls who maybe do not have the education to have an office job or who do not want one at all. It is also very popular among students to power up their low income during studies so they can afford an apartment and a good lifestyle.
