I have just played around with a tool provided by Wordtracker that shows which questions people ask directly in the search engines. Anyways I was curious what people ask about Budapest or Hungary. Unfortunately about Budapest there where only few questions but about Hungary there were some more so I thought give them the answer to those questions:

Where is the best place to visit in Hungary?

It depends on what you would like to do. Most people for sure choose Budapest as it is the biggest city with the most sights and history in Hungary. If you want to go for a summer holiday and go for example sailing you best go to Lake Balaton or if thats too touristic maybe Lake Velence. To try some of Hungarys fantastic wines I recommend to go to Villany in the south of Hungary.
Well as you see there are a lot of places to visit in Hungary so the answer depends on what you want to experience.

Where to join the Hungary army?

I was a bit surprised that this was the second most asked question as it tracks only questions from US search engines as far as I know but OK, lets give it a try to answer this one even though I know shit about army in general and even less about the Hungarian army. You know what? Check out the Wikipedia article about it I guess thats the better source to answer this question.

To go by the population the largest cities in Hungary are Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc, Szeged, Pécs, Győr, Nyiregyhaza, Székesfehérvár and Kecskemét. Budapest has around 2 million inhabitants and iit goes down to around 100.000 in Kecskemét.

Városlőd is in Bakony which is in Western Hungary.

What is the population of Hungary?

Currently the population of Hungary is around 10.000.000 inhabitants. Additionally you find a large minority in Romania speaking Hungarian (Transilvanians) which are around 2 million.

What important events are happening in Budapest, Hungary?

Well in Budapest there are a lot of events. Most important are for sure the Formula 1 on Hungaroring, the Sziget Fesztival, the Red Bull Air Race, the national holiday, the Budapest Spring Festival, the Budapest Wine Festival and so on.

Please don’t kill me for the way the questions were asked, I just copied them and at least added a question mark and wrote some words capitalized but thats how they appeared in this tool. Balaton Ring

Today morning in the news I heart that near Balaton a new race track will be built named Balaton Ring. Well next to Hungaroring near Budapest this would be the second big race track in Hungary. According to a motorcycle website the grand opening will be in Spetmeber 2009 hosting the MotoGP in Hungary. This would be a great event for MotoGP fanatic Hungarians since the last hosted MotoGP was back in 1992 which was one of only two races ever been in Hungary.

There are not many news out there yet telling more details about the ring itself. In a few Hungarian sources it is said that the Balaton Ring will be around 4 kilometer long and the top speed will be up to 300 kilometers per hour. It is also said to cost around 80 million Euro.

After Alba Airport near Székesfehérvár this is the next large out of Budapest construction in Hungary which more and more decentralizes the country. I doubt that the Balaton Ring can come close to Hungaroring since Hungaroring is hosting the popular Formula 1 since more than 20 years now.
