Budapest Caves

Underground

The thermal water in Budapest is not only responsible for Budapests famous baths but also the famous caves in Budapest. The water formed the more than 200 documented caves in Budapest. Four of the biggest and most impressive caves are visitable for tourists and interested persons.
The Budapest caves are often not integrated in a Budapest tours therefore it is necessary to organize the visit yourself. To calculate with half a day for a cave visit is realistic but of course it does not have to take so long.

The caves in Budapest are a big sightseeing attraction and very popular. It is also very interesting to see these natural caves. If you have time to visit one of the below caves I recommend it, for a weekend trip it might be to time consuming.
