A couple of years ago when I first went to Gödör Klub in Budapest everything happened inside which on a saturday night is quite smoky and loud. Anyhow during the last years they managed to build up an outdoor area with tons of tables and chairs on the stairs goind up and down to the club.

During summertime you will find here many students having a beer, a coffee or just enjoying the wireless and the sun during daytime. In the evening there is a lot of program going on in Gödör Klub like live concerts, art exhibitions and much more.

The prices in Gödör Klub are average and taking into consideration that it is located very central you could even say that it is a cheap place to drink a cocktail, coffe or beer. Cocktails are around 1000-1300 HUF and the fresh Dreher beer comes 560 HUF.

All in all Gödör Klub is a fantastic place to spend a free summer afternoon but also to come for concerts of more or less underground bands and of course get some drinks.

The club Underground is located on Erzsebet körut in the center of Budapest. Mostly this club is a student club, many of them are expats studying here in Budapest. What I experienced is that they are mostly Portuguese students. The club itself is in the basement of a normal house and plays all kinds of music. The audience is a bit young because next to the foreign students there are a lot of younger people especially younger girls. In general club Underground in Budapest is a place to go to sometimes but I would not highly recommend it.

Soho london in Budapest has obviously its name from the famous part of London to go out. Soho London is not worse than that part of London because you can have great parties or just have a drink if you want. The big advantage is that it is by far not as expensive as its English counterpart. Probably for the money you spend in London for one drink you can have a great party night in Soho London Budapest.

Club Piaf in Budapest is well know as the club to go to when everything is closed. Piaf becomes attractive around 2 or 3 o’clock in the night. The best time for Piaf is around 4 or 5 when other clubs close. You can get a nice last beer and have a dance with other drunk people. But to be honest Piaf is a bit rotten but as you will be quiet drunk when you go there you will not realize anymore. Try out Piaf if you had not enough party at night.

Club Livingroom in Budapest is a place in the heart of Budapest. From outside you might not realize living room because it is in the cellar of a regular house. But downstairs is a massive club with more than 1000 squaremeters, many rooms and different places to party. A unique thing are little separeted rooms where you can hang around, close the curtains and talk, party or just drink.

The people in Livingroom Budapest are relativly young but nevertheless you can make good party there.

School Club in Budapest is the former Közgaz Club in Közgaz university. In a complete new design School Club reopened in 2005. By now there is much more space, no seperated dance floors and a much more people. Before the reopening the club seemed not to be full at any day. The audience is more mixed than it used to be. Now the people partying at School Club are students and other young people whereas in Közgaz times the crowd was younger.

Wine starts at 250 HUF
Shots are around 800 HUF
Champagne between 2200 and 3500 HUF per bottle.

Entrance fee at School Club is 500 HUF for men, ladies entry is free.

West Balkan in Budapest is different. It is an inside place to sit and drink a beer with friends at the same time it is a beergarden to drink a beer as well or you just go down in the basement and dance. The open air part is very nice at West Balkan. Formerly it used to be a backyard of some house in Budapest. Now chairs and tables offer plenty of places to sit, talk, drink.

The inside is still an apartement house but with open windows and in the rooms you find space for table soccer, sitting corners, bars and much more. You want to dance? No problem, just go down the stairs in the smoky, hot basement and dance to a mix of electronic, alternative, etno music.
The name West Balkan already shows how oppositional the club is but nevertheless you will find the right spot in West Balkan Budapest.

Chachacha in Budapest has a new place in Budapest since the construction works are running on Kalvin tér. The new place for Chachacha is near Nyugati pályaudvar and West End City Center. ChaChaCha still has a very special atmosphere. For me one of the best places in town to start the evening with a beer for 300 HUF (0,4 liter) which is approximately 1,20€. Every day of the week another DJ is showing up and mixing at the turntables. It starts quiet and easy in the early afternoon but gets loud later the night.

The new design of Chachacha is very good with Manga comics on the wall and the floor and the complete place is cleaner than before. Unfortunately Chachacha Budapest lost a lot of its underground character and became one of the other clubs to go to. There have been better times but still it is worth going there.

Miniatür Budapest is a little posh place in the Buda hills. The 2. district is known as one of the best in Budapest and that is where Bar Miniatür is. From the outside it looks like a little private club with naked women but inside it is decorated like a theatre with red sofas and chairs. In fact Miniatür is quiet expensive but that makes sure you don’t have strange people in there.

In the beginning it starts like a cafe or a bar but later in the evening it turns into a crowded party place with dance floor and good music. Miniatür Budapest for sure is one of the clubs for “better earing people”. So check out Club Miniatüre you will not regret it, for sure.
