2010 – Hungaroring

“The Formula 1 in Budapest is a fixed date in the racecalendar” is what Bernie Ecclestone said a couple of years ago. Since 1986 the Formula 1 circus comes to Budapest for a stop at Hungaroring. Since then it is probably the biggest event in Budapest and for the whole country. Not just Hungarians but also people from Croatia, Slovakia, Romania and the Ukraine come year by year to see the fastest cars, the most famous drivers and the best looking girls in the world.

Fancy seeing drivers and VIPs from a very small distance? Well than I have a good tip for you. As the way through the city is too crowded and takes too long the drivers and VIPs are brought from the city by helicopter to the circuit. These helicopters always land in the same place where you can go to as well. At the northern end of the “Ujpesti Alsórakpart” (The road directly next to the Danube on Pest side) the small, white helicopters are taking off and landing all day long during the race weekend. If you wait here you can see the star drivers of the Formula 1 from a distance less than 10m.
