Invisible Exhibition Budapest

Invisible Exhibition BudapestThe Invisible Exhibition is taking place at the moment in Budapest were E-Klub is. What is the Invisible Exhibition? Well it is all about what do blind people experience and how they manage their lives. The Invisible Exhibition will take place until December 2009 so get yourself over to Népliget and try it because it is a really interesting experience.

The website of the Invisible Exhibition describes the experience as following

Imagine that all the lights go out…

The Invisible Exhibition Budapest is a unique interactive journey to an invisible world, where you experience finding your way only by touch and by following sounds and smells.

You will experience for example what it is like to go into the kitchen if you are blind. Just imagine you can’t see but have to find plates and pots, you will cook and find the right spices. Can you differentiate between Oregano and other herbs just by smelling? Well I can tell you it is not as easy as it sounds like.
The exhibition should be an eye opener to make people who can see feel what blind people feel and which tasks in their daily lives they are confronted with.

I really recommend to go there since this is an experience that you wil never forget and it will in some way change your view of the world. Just ask yourself sometimes who you would have managed a situation without seeing anything. Well that exactly is what you will experience in the invisible exhibition in Budapest.

The organizer also offers the chance to have a “invisible dinner” which basically is eating in the dark and, as I have heart, it must be a great experience because you taste the flavours even more and in the same time you have to get along with the fact that you don’t see what you are eating.

So as I said I recommend to check out the Invisible Exhibition in Budapest as long as it is possible (December 2009). You can find more information on the website of the invisible exhibition and of course directly in the E-Klub at Népliget. The opening hours are on weekdays 12.00 – 20.00 and on weekends 10.00 – 20.00. The prices for an adult are 1.490 HUF (1.750 on weekends), students and seniors for 1.200 HUF (1.500 on weekends) and of course you can get group tickets. A dinner is 6.490 HUF.
