Lehel market in Budapest

I like to go to markets very much to buy fresh vegetables and fruits. Most people know the grand market hall at Fővám Tér as it is the most famous and located directly in the touristic center of Budapest. But I have to say that is by far not the best market in Budapest since you get the same stuff over and over again. The typical tourist stuff such as paprika powder, goose liver and Pálinka.

If I go to the market I usually go to Lehel market on Lehel Tér near West End City Center. This market is a bit more authentic than the others and also the selling people are more “traditional” HUngarians. You find here the same stuff if not more than in the grand market hall. Next to usualy things as vegetables, fruits or milk products you can get very good fresh meat, all kinds of pasta, fresh bread and other bakery but also non food related things like kitchen equipment.
