“No tour today because of ice”
These where the words I read today morning on my way to work on every sightseeing tour by boat pier in Budapest. The Danube is covered in ice since a couple of days and since then sightseeing boats are not allowed to cruise on the Danube. Big ships such as transporters are still allowed to go their way through Hungarys capital but even the large river cruise boats coming from or going to Vienna and Bratislava I haven’t seen in a while.
Still the weather is not getting warmer so that there seems to be no chance in the next few days for the sightseeing boats to go on a cruise. Anyways the winter in Budapest is not the busiest time but for a few people the sightseeing trip by boat would have been for sure a nice opportunity.
