The best Thai restaurant in Budapest!
I have been to Parázs Presszó in Budapest already several times but just now I find the time to actually write my article about it. For me Parázs Presszó is definitely the best Thai restaurant I have visited in Budapest and among the best Asian restaurants in Budapest next to Momotaro Metélt and Wasabi (both Japanese). Actually Parázs Presszó is not only a Thai restaurant but also a Hungarian restaurant so it combines the specialities of two worlds, the heavy food of Hungary and the exotic food of Thailand.
The menu is clearly seperated into the 2 different styles and contains everything from starter to dessert. So if you fancy a typical Hungarian soup followed up by a spicy Thai Curry this is your place to go.
I am talking mainly about the Thai part of the restaurant since this is the only food I ate there till now. Maybe this will change some day even though I strongly doubt it simply because once you are in a place like this you want to try the food you dont get every day. Nevertheless this Hungarian food might be quite tasty as well, if you have any experience feel free to share it in the comments or contact me.
So on the Thai menu you can find classical Thai dishes like for example different Curries or Pad Thai but also, at least for me, rather unknown dishes. Main part of the food contains chicken meat but what I really like is that Parázs Presszó very often gives you the choice which type of meat or even fish you would like to have in that prepared dish. So you can eat basically any food with chicken, beef or pork and often Seafood as well, whatever you prefer. For a full menu I would recommend you to have a look at the website where the menu is presented as well. But where does this Thai / Hungarian in one restaurant idea comes from? As far as I know the owner are a Hungarian and his Thai wife and they share the roles in the restaurant. Also the interior and decoration is focussed more on the Thai part of the restaurant which gives you a kind of holiday feeling. So you get your Hungarian food prepared from a Hungarian and the Thai food by a local Thai person which makes it really authentic.
Parázs Presszó also has a “little sister/brother” near Astoria called Kis Parázs where I have never been but I will try it in near future I guess. It sounds a bit more like a quick lunch or dinner than a proper dining place but I might be wrong. Also I think that Kis Parázs is only focussing on Thai food.
To sum it up if you want to eat really good, authentic Thai food in Budapest I definitely recommend Parázs Presszó. But if you have any other good Thai restaurant in Budapest I am happy to try it, just let me know.
