When started Budapestagent and why?


Budapestagent.com was first online in 2005 under the name budapest24.net as a collection of information that I have gathered and things that I have done and seen here in Budapest. During my time in Budapest I wanted to write down my experiences and decided to do this with a simple website.

Who is the agent?


I am the agent, a real person, born in 1980 in Germany. After I studied I came to Budapest for an internship. During that time I started to love this city and decided to stay longer than the planned 5 months. So in March 2005 I settled down in Budapest and started working for a large Internet / Multimedia company in Budapest. Since 2001 my passion and hobby is the internet and I started to create websites about topics that I like. 2005 I started this page and over the years I realized that more an more persons enjoy to read my reviews, thank me for my recommendations and drop me lines to ask questions. I try to answer every question that arrives in my mailbox even though it is quiet hard because there are a lot but don't hesitate to send me an email.
If you would like to write a review for a restaurant, bar or whatever don't wait, just send. Also if you would like to thank me just drop me a line.
I want to point out that none of my reviews is paid or influenced in any way by money. If I don't like a restaurant I write it, if I like it I write it. Of course these are just personal impressions but I mainly want to warn you because there are many ripp off places in Budapest.

Why the agent?


As I mentioned I started this website to write down my experience but in the same time when I saw that more and more people are visiting I realized that maybe I can change something. I am annoyed by the ripp off clubs, bars restaurants and street cunts trying to steal the money from the tourists. So the intenetion is to warn you on the one side and on the other side try to recommend some places to make your stay in Budapest as good as possible.

Is Budapestagent.com commercial?


Yes and No. You see advertisement on nearly any site, thats true. But this money is not enough to live from it. As I said it is my hobby and my passion, in the same time it is my job (in the company I work for) as well so I can learn a lot with the websites I own. This is the major goal of them.
If you book a hotel I will get some small commission, if you click an ad as well but this is for me secondary. So I would rather say that the website is not commercial, even though it looks like.

As mentioned above I don't need the money I earn with this website for my live so I rather have partnerships that help my users with further information or a service and get something in return such as a link instead of money. If you have a restaurant, bar, club, hotel, apartment or anything else please contact me. There are no fees you have to pay. Backlinksare fine for me. Nevertheless I accept advertisement so if you want to advertise on the website please check the advertise page.

At the moment I search for:

  • Sightseeing tour agencies
    • If you offer sightseeing tours in Budapest, no matter if by bus, helicopter, private tours or by boat on the danube, please contact me. One good sightseeing agency you can find here: Budapest city Tour. But to be honest I want to give my visitors more information on my website than on third party pages.

  • Party websites
    • You have a party website and offer a calender to your users? We are interested in it. On our startpage we can offer you the complete "Top parties this weekend" section plus links to party pictures on every clubs website. At the moment the parties have to be updated by hand, thats something I would like to avoid.

  • Event and Ticket services
    • You sell tickets online? In English? Write me and I can give you the section "Coming up" plus links on all concert and event sites if you have a good offer in exchange.

  • Apartment owners
    • You own an apartment and want to rent it? Write your own text with pictures, contact infos and much more. International customers are waiting for you and your apartment. Please contact me for more information.

    • No matter if Balaton, Budapest or anywhere else in Hungary we present your Hungarian holiday house on Budapestagent.com. You get your own page where you can write as much text as you want plus pictures and much more.

    • Not only Sziget Festival and Red Bull Air Race have the chance to present themselves. You organize a wine festival? Or any other event? Contact me and you have the chance to show international audience your event.

  • Sport activities
    • You organize roller blade tours? Or go biking on the weekend? Football once a week? English speaking people are welcome in your group? Than contact me and we can find ways to bring you together.
