Köki Terminal Shopping Center Budapest

Köki Terminal Shopping Center in Budapest on the way to Budapest Airport is the next Shopping Center that will be opened. After Allee which was opened not too long ago and also the massive Arena Plaza shopping Center which is not too old there will be the next one now. Since Iam going quite often to the airport I see Köki Shopping Center developing step by step and I have to say it seems to be massive (accoring to unconfirmed information it will 65.000 square meter). It feels like ages passing it by taxi and it is also at least 4 levels high. So in near future you can expect another shopping center with cinema, restaurants and all the typical shops like Zara, H&M, Replay and so on and so on.

The sad thing about it is that not 500m away from Köki Terminal Shopping Center there is already the Euro Center which is not too small as well so I don’t know who should shop that much in this area. The target as I believe is the traffic that is coming from the final stop of Metro line 3 which stops right in front of the Shopping Center but to be honest that cannot be it because on first sight this shopping center is really bigger than all others in Budapest, and as you know once West End has been the biggest Shopping Center in Eastern Europe, than it was Arena Plaza so I would not wonder if Terminal will get the title as soon as it opens its doors.

I have not found an official opening date ora website about Terminal Shopping Center in Budapest but there is a forum which has tons of images posted where you can follow realy well the development of this monster. Go and check it out here. As soon as there are news I will update this article, until than lets just see how it develops.

Bio Market Budapest

The Bio Market in Budapest is a weekly market only trading bio and organic products located on the parking place of the Budapest Congress Centrum (link to map). Every Saturday traders of bio and organic goods come together to sell their products. On the Bio Market in Budapest you can find anything from vegetables to clothes all biologically or organically produced. Most of the visitors you find there are young families having children to buy fresh vegetables, milk, bread, creams, fruits and much more for their children but also for themselves.

As stated on the picture the Bio Market is open from 6.30 till 13.00 every Saturday. Nearby you can find a park with a playground where most people are going to after or before shopping to play with their kids and spend the time after on the fresh air.

The Bio Market is a collection of little wood houses where the traders offer their goods and talk with the visitors. I think it is a good opportunity to buy fresh and local vegetables and fruits and not to buy all your grocery in the big shops like Tesco or Auchan even though it is a bit more expensive. Additionally you can find there interesting new products especially what they make there fresh. Another reason for me to go there is Mangold, the “spinach like” vegetable which you always get in Croatia next to your fish and potatoes. This is actually the only place in Budapest where I have seen Mangold.

So if you fancy bio and organic foods and drinks and want to spend a Saturday morning out in the nice weather than I recommend you to go there one day. I also wonder if there are other bio markets somewhere around the city so if you know one please let me know.

Allee Budapest

Allee in Budapest is a newly opened shopping center on the territory of former Skala shopping center. Withing a year or so Allee was built on the property which is located on Buda side near Petöfi bridge. I have to admit that Allee in Budapest is a really nice shopping center since it is very spacy and it doesn’t feel as crowded as the other shopping centers. Nevertheless it is just another new built shopping center in Budapest.

The Allee shopping center has everything a shopping center needs, just like Arena Plaza or West End City Center, so you find there shops like Zara, H&M, Gap, Gas, Springfield, all types of shoe shops, jewlery shops, Coffee Shops like Costa Coffee, newspaper stores, a supermarket and everything you can imagine.

Of course you can find as well a food place with all kinds of different cultural food from Chinese over Turkish up to Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza plazes and so on. Also you find brand stores such as a Sony Store, a Nokia Store or Adidas Store. What I really like is that you feel comfortable all the time because it is not so crowded due to the wide walking areas even in the christmas time it is OK. Allee in Budapest, as far as I heart, has the biggest cinema in Budapest which I cannot really imagine because it doesnt seem to be bigger than the Arena Plaza cinema for instance.

Open Air Shopping

There are several streets in Budapest which are packed with shops. From shoes over clothes to electronics and so on you can find anything in the streets of Budapest. I think there is no real city center in Budapest so that over time it came that in some streets a lot of shops opened and by now they are streets to shop. The most famous are listed below.

Andrassy ut

Andrassi ut is the most famous street in Budapest. It starts at Deak Ferenc ter and heads towards Hösök ter(hero square). On its way it passes Budapest highlights like the Basilika, the Opera, Liszt ferenc ter andOktogon. On Andrassy ut many shops, interior design shops, restaurants and bars are located. Famous is also the Christmas decoration on Adrassy ut.

Vaci utca

Vaci utca starts at Vörösmarti tér and leads to the market hall. On Vörösmarti ter is the world famous coffee house Gerbeaud.
The street is a famous place for tourists with all the shops, restaurants and cafes. At nighttime many tourist like to take a walk there but beware because many “nightclubs” offering striptease shows try to get you in the club which ends always in a disaster as people say in the internet who have visited those locations. The nightlife clubs send out their ladies (in groups of 2) to guide the tourist in a bar.
But do not hesitate to have a walk there, it is really nice.

Shopping Suchmaschine | Jacke in Übergrösse |
