Clubs in Budapest

Club Play Budapest
Club Play in Budapest is one of the few good clubs on Buda side. Most of the nightlife in Budapest is taking part on the bigger Pest side but Club Play is located in the 11th district. Since years thousands of young people come to party and celebrate in one of the two dancefloors with two different types of music. In the bigger dancefloor you can find house music as you would hear it in Ibiza. The smaller room is for RnB, pop and hip hop tunes. Images of Club Play in Budapest More information Address: Daróczi út 2, 1113 Budapest Opening Hours: Saturday 23:00 – 05:00 Tel.: +3620 4899939 Web: http://www.clubplay.hu/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/clubplay.hu/ ← → x × Previous Next

Kobuci Kert
Kobuci Kert in Budapest is a bar with food and drinks as well as a event location for smaller concerts and performances. It is a fairly simple outdoor place like a beergarden in Óbuda (northern Budapest) offering the usual things to drink and eat for one exception which is the Kobuci sandwich. Kobuci is an assembled word coming from Ko for Kolbász (Hungarian fried sausage) and Buci which is the dough. The Kobuci Sandwich On the dough there is a base of spiced sour cream (tejföl, very popular in Hungary) topped with home made, fried, ground sausage pieces and some vegetables such as tomato slices and diced cucumber. Quite simple but really tasty, this is how it looks like. The Kobuci Kert is originated back in 2005 during the biggest all art festival in Hungary, the Valley of arts. Since then Kobuci is a name and with the start of the Kobuci Kert in summer 2009 it is a permanent place in Óbuda, the Northern part of Budapest on Fő…

Tesla Budapest
Tesla in Budapest is a relatively new club that has opened its gates in winter 2014/2015. Located in the very popular Jewish district Tesla is mainly a club for dancing but also a bistro or restaurant which is open during the day offering several daily menus. In this review I will only review the club as I haven’t tried the food. So it was a cold winter night and the opening party of Tesla, a high class club in downtown Budapest. As I decided to go there at around midnight my mates and I started to walk there and from the first impression I fancied the club. A nice garden with possibilities to drink and eat something and a club opening up in the background. First shock was at the entrance asking for 3.300 HUF which for a club is already a fairly high price. Once I paid the money and got into the actual club I was asked to put down my jacket as it is not allowed to…

Club Romkert

Zwischendurch gibt…

Club Budapest Park
The club Budapest Park in Budapest is the largest open air club in Budapest which opened its gates in May 2012. It is located next to Lágymányosi Híd Rákóczi Híd on Pest side a bit outside the city center but on the way to the well populated districts 18, 19, 20, 21, 23 and also easy to reach from Buda side where the 11th and 22nd districts are located. There are enough people living around and with the great programs Park has you find many nights sold out even though the size is massive. Just for your information in club Park you have a KFC serving you all night with snacks and food which probably no other club in Budapest can offer you. In Park there are many concerts taking place of internationally and nationally well known bands and performers such as Joss Stone, Manu Chao, Dorfmeister (from Kruder & Dorfmeister) or Anthrax and to name a few Hungarian bands there are Zagar, Hooligans or Anti Fitness Club. Nearly every…

Club Ötkert Budapest
Ötkert is one of the most popular clubs in Budapest these days so prepare for long queues in case you show up Friday or Saturday night. Located in the city center near Basilica Ötkert is in the best area for nightlife with many clubs, bars and restaurants around as well as hotels and typical tourist spots. Being a very popular hotspot at night is not the only thing Ötkert offers. You can also have a nice dinner or lunch here, visit exhibitions or listen to live music throughout the week. What makes Ötkert in Budapest so popular? In my opinion Ötkert is an absolutely great example of superb interior design. It is one of those backyard buildings which many Ruin Pubs in Budapest make use of as well. A tree in the club and different plants growing all over the place hanging down from the balconies paired with stylish interiors makes it a lovely place to go to. However at night you might not see all the bits and pieces…

Bed Beach Budapest
Budapest is a magnificent city known for its breathtaking architecture, it’s rich history and its beautiful scenery. It is also a city which is becoming more and more renowned for its nightlife. A seasonal city, Budapest has very cold winters and extremely warm summers and as a result has both summer and winter club seasons. During winter all the clubs are indoor, however, during the summer months the majority of the indoor clubs are closed and the outdoor clubs take over. The largest and most popular of these open air clubs is Bed Beach which is open during the summer months as well as during May and September. The night club opens in the evenings and is usually open until 5 AM and even later on special occasions. Bed Beach is located on Hajogyari Sziget, an Island dedicated completely to night clubs and bars. On such an island it is very hard for a club to stand out, Bed Beach, however, stands out due its very chic and clean design…
Student Jobs in Budapest
To finance your expenses you have such as your apartment, you mobile phone bill, your food & drinks etc. you might be in need of a student job in Budapest. Also during your studies you are required to do an internship for a certain time. Below you find the latest 10 Student Job and internship offers from BudapestJobs.net – the leading English language jobs website for Budapest – which you can browse through:
Also you can check out jobs in Budapest here on BudapestAgent.com and browse through the openings.
Furthermore, if you do not find the right position for yourself, I can recommend to search directly for companies that might have positions that interest you online or in case you are searching for example a job in the hotel, tourism, gastronomy field pop in the places personally and ask if they have jobs that are open. Good luck.
Apartments in Budapest
During your studies you will need to rent an apartment or at least a room in a shared flat. In general the rental prices are not too high so it is affordable to have a small city center apartment if that fits in your budget of course. More cheap is to only rent a room within an apartment together with other students this is also fun most of the time. The further you move outside the city center the cheaper the rent will be and as not all universities are in the Budapest city center this might even be an advantage for you. For fun and entertainment in the city you can simply take one of the many public transport opportunities and within few minutes you will be in town.

Budapest Ruin Pub Tour
Visit the really legendary places and those tourists have never even heard of! This is not a pub crawl but a pleasant walk with a real insider where you chill out in and around these amazing bars.. Did you know that in Budapest ruin bars… … you can time travel into Hungary’s past with beers and wines? … you can buy artworks and homegrown vegetables? … you can understand the hungarian soul? Imagine Budapest in the early 2000s. Something is going on in the Jewish quarter: bars and cultural centres are opening in partially ruined buildings and courtyards. After a few years, they had an official name: Ruin Bars. After 10 years they have become an ultimate highlight in Budapest. Now they are the pulsating heart of Budapest, the gardens of creativity, cultural and civil hubs, the hidden artist caves, a mingle of everything what we love and what you will love about Budapest. Get to know the backstory of this incredibly interesting district with its former mostly Jewish inhabitants…

The Worlds most “powerful” Passports
There are passports and there are passports. Not with every passport you can travel freely in every country for various reasons. But which are the passports you can travel into most of the countries freely? And which are the ones that don’t allow you to enter most of the countries? The list below gives clarity and as the refugee topic is more actual then ever these days I think it is worth to publish this list. The first place is shared between the UK and the USA followed by France, Germany and South Korea on a shared second place. So the list goes on with mainly Western countries but with less free access to many countries. On a shared ninth place comes Hungary alongside Czech republic and Australia. On the bottom of the list on a shared place 80 you find Solomon Islands, Myanmar (Burma), South Sudan, Sao Tome and Principe and Palestinian Territories. This should not be a political post which I ever since I do BudapestAgent.com avoid. So…

New York Bagel Budapest
New York Bagel is a place to grab a quick breakfast before heading to work located in the 13th district on Vaci út. Located next to massive office buildings with thousands of workers commuting by every day New York Bagel has a perfect location for the right customers. The little shop is not much more than a sales desk and a small bakery because the bagels are baked in store. A small selection of bagels to not over do it and your breakfast is ready to go. You can choose between 8 bagels including the superb “Tuna Melt” with Tuna and melted cheese or the “Manhatten” with Ham & Cheese. You can also get a classic with cream cheese and salmon, a vegetarian bagel or a hearty barbeque. All bagels in New York Bagel are well topped so you never have the feeling to just eat the bagel but you taste and feel the toppings. The essential part is that the bagels are world class and really tasty. Here you…

Karaván – The Street Food Plaza
Karaván in Budapest is taking advantage of the increasing popularity of food trucks in Budapest (yes, there is already a festival for it). A small lot in Budapest downtown where a building used to be but got demolished functions as a parking place for several street food artists serving classy food before, during or after your party in the nightlife of Budapest. It is a wild mixture of tasts, all independent serving the food they know the best and all of it is really tasty. Trucks include the famous Parázs Presszó serving Thai food, the new invention Kolbice a bun stuffed with Hungarian sausages and sauces, a place selling all things deep fried, a Lángos truck and of course you can get warm and cold drinks as well. All this combined with a great atmosphere in the middle on Budapest and the romance of ruins as know from the famous ruin pubs in Budapest makes Karaván a great experience. The location is as mentioned alreay in downtown Budapest, right next…

Apartment Scam in Budapest
A new type of scam came up recently in Budapest (probably this is practised all over the world) which is affecting all people looking for an apartment to rent. Imagine you find a nice apartment in Budapest on one of the major real estate websites and agree on an appointment with the supposed owner. The apartment looks nice, the rental is fair (attention here often very cheap prices are offered) and everything seems to be perfect. The supposed owner takes out a document which appears to be a rental contract which you will sign and so does your counterpart. It is stamped and all looks legit. You are now supposed to pay the deposit which usually is equivalent to 2 months rental fee. So you pay as you signed the contract, saw the apartment and are happy to move in. But once you want to move in the apartment the supposed owner is not reachable anymore, you don’t have a key and you have no clue how to get into…

Mobilfunkanbieter & Handyvertrag in Ungarn

Can you recommend a website for Apartment rental in Budapest?
There are several Budapest apartment rental websites where you also can find there houses, properties, holiday houses or business premises. Also you need to distinguish between long term and short term rental which makes a great difference in where to start your search. Assuming that you are interested in long term rentals I can recommend you the following websites to start your research: realestatehungary.hu (English version of ingatlan.com) ingatlanbazar.hu oc.hu/en alberlet.hu/en dh.hu/ Except for Ingatlanbazar and Duna House (dh.hu) all websites have a English version however the property description will still be in Hungarian but at least you can see the features like size, number of rooms, condition etc in English. For short term rentals like a week or even a month I still recommend you to check out the apartments listed on Airbnb which are perfect and uncomplicated for short term rentals and fairly cheap as well. Also have a look at the 10 most beautiful Airbnb apartments in Budapest I have collected recently. ← → x × Previous…

Studentenwohnung in Budapest

← → x × Previous Next

Bike-Sharing in Budapest – MOL Bubi
Bike-Sharing is already a big thing in other European cities and working perfectly fine. Now bike-sharing will come to Budapest and the bike stations are being built all over the city so that soon the bikes will come. But what is bike-sharing exactly? The concept is simple: You take a locked bike from a bike station, cycle wherever you need to go and lock the bike again on the nearest bike station. Obviously there are many advantages but also obstacles. I think that we can be very happy that Budapest has decided to make bike-sharing available for all of us. Advantages of Bike-Sharing: No investment for a bike needed A good, quality bike always near you within the city Availability 24 hours a day But there are a few disadvantages as well: No bike available at a specific station No place available at a station to put back the bike But how do I take a locked bike? Does it cost something? How many stations and bikes are there available?…

Student Jobs & Internships in Budapest
As an international Student in Budapest it is not so easy to find a a job since the language is a most of the time a requirement to work for a Hungarian company. Nevertheless there are international companies in Budapest that offer jobs for students. The best way to find a job in Budapest, no matter if student position or senior level, are the typical job search engines in the web. Further information about that you can find at the bottom of this article. Student Jobs in Budapest Student jobs in Budapest or Hungary can range from a typical waiter job to data entry jobs at a large cooperation. Many companies search for students as a external employee to do smaller tasks in a not full time environment. Student Apartments
Especially for foreign students it is hard to find an apartment in Budapest meating their needs like size, location and of course the price. Sometimes it makes sense to share an apartment with other students but to find these apartments is quite hard. On THIS post I have written some time ago are some serious discussions going on who has an apartment to rent, who needs an apartment and which time. As far as I heart from some of the commenters it worked out already. But this post is in general about apartment share and since students sometimes have different needs than other people who want to share an apartment I would like this post to be the discussion for student apartments or shared apartments for students only. So if you need an apartment because you will move to Hungary for studies please write a comment with exactly what you need and probably the price you can pay. I also would like owners of apartments in Budapest or such students…

Morrisons Opera in Budapest
Morrisons club in Budapest is closed to the opera at Andrassy ut. You have to go down some stairs and there you are. Why I wrote “Dance and drink with the train”? Because Morrisons in Budapest has a small train running 2,5 meters above the bar. It’s a little gadget but nothing more. Besides this little train Morrisons has a very long bar with 4 or 5 different types of beer, cocktails, longdrinks, wine and more. Sometimes in Morrisons they have Karaoke nights where many people go to and have fun. Who is not drinking or singing at the moment can dance on the large dancefloor of Morrisons. One thing thats not too good there is the music or better the DJ. No song lasts longer than 2 minutes because he is already playing the next song. A little bit anoying, specially when you like a song. But for drinking, watching an part time dancing Morrisons in Budapest is great. Monyó Café & Bar
Coffee, drinks and music Sine a long time I haven’t been to Cafe Monyó in Budapest simply because the Metro 4 construction is hiding this good bar. I used to go regularyl to Cafe Monyó because in the evening you could have nice drinks combined with good music and party. Since Metro 4 is build on Kalvin Tér Cafe Monyó has the worst place you can imagine as it is in a dead end where nobody is passing. Sad for them and other people because nobody can find it. ← → x × Previous Next

Dentist in Budapest
It is a well known fact that a dentist in Budapest or an entire dental treatment in Hungary is much cheaper comparing to Western Europe though offering the same high quality standards. Most dentists in Hungary do not earn much money if they work as a regular dentist that is why it became very popular to treat foreigners either on their holiday or even on organized trips just for this one purpose. After research among some of the leading Hungarian dental treatment companies I found out that you can save 30 – 80% compared to Germany, the UK or the Netherlands. This big saving, depending on the complexity of course, leaves enough money to pay the flight to Budapest, accommodation and catering in case it is not offered in the package. There are several companies across Europe offering dental tourism trips to Budapest or other parts of Hungary, not only because of the prices but also because of the reputation Hungarian dentists have around the globe. In this article you…

Hungarian is a very difficult language so what you definetly need is a teacher or a language school guiding you through the first weeks of your learning process since the logic behind the language is nearly impossible to understand. Budapest Airport
Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport /Ferihegy 1 & 2! Budapest airport or as it is called “Ferihegy” Liszt Ferenc International Airport is seperated in two terminals which basically devide the low cost airlines from the charter flights. Terminal one which was a long time shut down got rebuild a couple years ago due to the mass of low cost airlines who arose in the last years because they are usually offering a great airfare. A good investment because nowadays the Budapest airport is on a high standard even though it is quiet small compared to other airports in Europe. Terminal two which was the regular airport is still in a not very nice shape. Devided in two parts (a and b) big airlines like BA, Malév or Lufthansa arrive and depart here. The Budapest airport is around 16 kilometers away from the city center of Budapest. The airport transfer is nowaday quiet flexible and very easy. Within 30 minutes maximum you are in the heart of Budapest. For more information around Budapest…
Apartment Share in Budapest
To share an apartment in Budapest can be very interesting for students abroad as well as students who come to Budapest for an internship. Sharing an apartment with people is a cheap alternative to an own apartment and can also be easier if someone else is the main hirer of the apartment. Specially for young people apartment sharing is always an alternative during the studies or even while working. Budapest has many apartments that are more or less perfect for living with 2 or 3 people in one apartment because they have a big living room and besides some smaller rooms. Of course not everybody likes to share his or her apartment and prefers an own apartment. ← → x × Previous Next

Language Schools in Budapest
If you are living in Budapest or Hungary since a while or you are planning to stay for longer you might take into consideration to learn Hungarian. Therefore a language School is probably the best choice because Hungarian is a very difficult language due to the fact that it is not related to any other language in the world. I can tell from my own experience that it takes a while to understand Hungarian grammar, it is hard to learn the vocabulary but on the other hand it helps a lot to survive in Hungary and people absolutely love if a foreigner speaks Hungarian. So check out the language schools in Budapest to take Hungarian classes. Learning Hungarian with Youtube
Everybody knows that Youtube hosts tons of videos from professional HD ready movie trailors in 16:9 over semi professional Vodcasts to amateur movies made by all kinds of people in low quality. Anyways while surfing the other day on Youtube I found several videos dealing with learning Hungarian by watching videos. A voice is pronouncing the words and in the same time you see a picture of the object. In the case of the picture the video deals with fruits. The same is available for numbers and all kinds of topics. I think it is a quite good idea to learn some words if you are really a beginner. Here you can find the fruits video, animals and seasons. Honestly this should have been done by a language school in Hungary. I mean the 3 videos have been watched around 3500 times together so that would have been a lovley promotion for the language school. Anyways, check out the videos if you are learning Hungarian or even if you are…
