Trófea Grill Restaurant

Trófea is an all you can eat restaurant chain all over the city including currently 6 restaurants. Mainly being a grill or barbeque restaurant in Trófea you can choose the meat yourself out of the fridge and give it to the grill master who then freshly prepares it for you in front of your eyes. But that is not all, you also get fresh salads, grilled vegetables or fish, other dishes such as stews and of course a large variety of side dishes and desserts. In a nutshell that is it but the variety of food is just endless with mainly typical Hungarian dishes such as soups, pickles or stews but you can also have BBQ chicken wings or other dishes from all over the world.
The heart obviously is the grill where you pick your meat and it is being grilled freshly for you. Sometimes if you get in early and are lucky you might even catch some nice steak or shrimps and not only chicken and pork meat. Also typical fish is available such as trout or salmon.

The way it works is that you pay a fee for either lunch or dinner time of around 6.000 HUF and for that you can eat as much as you want within the dinner or lunch time. Both the prices and the time are depending on which of the 6 restaurants you are going to. A fair price if you ask me taking into consideration that you have a massive choice and of course the fact that it is all you can eat.

I have only been to the Trófea Grill Óbuda so far so all I am reviewing here is based on my visit in the North of Budapest. The interior and especially the garden atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. You never have the feeling that you need to queue for your food as you might know it from hotel breakfasts or all-inclusive hotels. So it never feels overcrowded or disturbing to get up and grab some food or to sit by the table and have a chat. The staff is very friendly and helpful however I had the feeling not fast enough when it comes to ordering drinks. These restaurants usually live off the drinks they sell and in my opinion the waiters could have come to the table more frequently asking for new drinks.

Overall I can suggest you to go to Trófea if you are really hungry (not only then) as the quality of meats and foods is very good and tasty and the atmosphere is inviting to stay. Give it a try.
